Hawa and EKU are growing together
At the beginning of 2017, the Swiss premium provider for sliding solutions from a single source will be created.
The two companies Hawa AG and EKU AG are announcing that they will be operating as a single, legally valid company under the new name of Hawa Sliding Solutions AG from the beginning of 2017. The two family-run companies, with their respective headquarters in Mettmenstetten and Sirnach, are specialists in the area of sliding. The merger is creating a leading global supplier of sliding solutions that is destined for long-term growth.
Hawa Sliding Solutions AG will operate as a company under joint management with two operations. The two previous sites in Mettmenstetten and Sirnach will be retained. The Hawa and EKU brands will continue to exist as product range brands in the company’s markets.
The new management started its work on 1st July 2016. It consists of experienced managers from Hawa and EKU. Gregor and Heinz Haab will manage the company together as representatives of the owner families. Heinz Schmidhauser, former managing director of EKU AG, retired at the end of June 2016. Full integration into one company is planned for the end of June 2018. “The integration will create a company that is financially stronger. This is a prerequisite for sustainable growth. We are planning to significantly increase our innovative force with the synergy effects that have been achieved and provide our customers with an even more comprehensive range of sliding solutions”, says Gregor Haab, one of the two future CEOs of Hawa Sliding Solutions AG.
Already in 2015, Hawa and EKU reacted to the strong Swiss Franc with cost reduction and marketing measures. Because of the merger of individual company functions, further savings can be achieved by the end of 2018. The integrated portfolio will give the customer everything from one company and from a single source. “With the merger of both companies, we are safeguarding our locations in Switzerland and our future as a Swiss company”, says Heinz Haab, future CEO of Hawa Sliding Solutions AG.
