Ketschauer Hof

The owner of the main house on a former vineyard estate on the Palatinate wine route has transformed it into a luxurious hideaway in cooperation with architects bost berlin. Traditional elements have been laboriously restored and carefully supplemented with modern components.

Opened in 2009, the Ketschauer Hof Hotel rounds off the ensemble of gourmet restaurant, wine bistro and event facilities and is a first-class hideaway. The small and exclusive boutique hotel in the health resort of Deidesheim on the Palatinate wine route combines elements of local building tradition with modern architecture designed by bost berlin. The property consisting of the main house built in 1772 alongside various auxiliary buildings has kept its unique and unmistakable character thanks to a conversion carried out with a great deal of sensitivity. The main challenge facing the interior designers was implementing the interior conversion of the listed building to a state of outstanding design and complete functionality.

Tassilo Bost installed sliding doors made of wood and glass in the guest rooms and suites, the reception and the corridors and restaurant. Room-high, all-glass doors create transparency between the bathrooms and living/sleeping areas in the suites. The architect specified that the hardware should be integrated in the ceiling with no disturbing interruptions, run smoothly and be easy to use. He opted for HAWA Junior 80 GP and HAWA Junior 120 A.
